A resale certificate is required
To buy tax-exempt for resale, every account must have a valid state resale certificate on file — a Florida Annual Resale Certificate (Form DR-13) or your state equivalent. This is a legal requirement, not a formality. Without a current certificate, standard retail pricing and sales tax apply to all orders.
Florida certificates expire on December 31 regardless of when they were issued. We re-verify every account at the start of each calendar year. If yours lapses, the account reverts to standard taxable pricing until a current certificate is received.
Exemption applies only to products bought for resale to your own customers. Anything you buy for your own business use stays taxable.
Contact your state's Department of Revenue to obtain your certificate before you register. We can still open a standard account for you in the meantime.
